We know losing a loved one can be a difficult process. If you would like to send donations for your loved one and have it listed in the obituary, please include this important information: Send donations to Storybook Island PO Box 9196 Rapid City SD 57709. Please indicate on the memo line of the check who the donation is for.
Please reach out to Storybook Island 605-342-6357 or Executive Director Jackie Laws: Jackie@storybookisland.com to speak about options for the memorial funds. You can dedicate it to a certain project or donate the money to the general operating fund.
We have two options for a memorial brick. The standard brick is $50 or the Granite brick is $100. Each brick has three lines with 14 spaces. Bricks are placed in the park twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. Please see above for the order form.
Memorial Benches are $4,000. With the purchase of a memorial bench it includes a plaque. We recommend no more than four lines, you can also include a picture. The picture needs be 5x7 or larger and of good quality. You also have the option to choose your color for the bench: Blue, green, yellow, red, purple, teal. The location of the bench is determined by Storybook Island staff.
Memorial Picnic tables are $5,000. With the purchase of a memorial picnic table includes a plaque. We recommend no more than four lines, you can also include a picture. The location of the picnic table is determined by Storybook Island staff.
You can also sponsor a set in honor of your loved one. The price for a set sponsor is $400 - $2,000 depending on what event you would like to sponsor the set for. This is valid for one year. Your loved ones name will be listed on the plaque, sponsor banner, website and social media.
You do have the option to refurbish a set in honor of your loved one, or purchase a new set. The cost of the set refurbishment or new purchase depends on the amount of pieces. All new sets must be approved by the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Sets range in price from $5,000 - $50,000+
