Space Pirates! Presented by Storybook Island & Theater 605 Black Hills Playhouse

About the Show:  Pirates! Aliens! Space Travel! Space Pirates tells the story of Gabby, a kid who gets picked on during a school trip to the museum. Everything quickly changes when an alien spaceship accidentally beams Gabby and her classmates up to outer space. Things go from bad to worse when the alien spaceship is suddenly attacked by SPACE PIRATES! It’s only after this whirlwind space adventure that Gabby becomes comfortable in her own skin, and her classmates appreciate her for who she is.

Day camp: June 29th-July 11th

Location: Storybook Island Theater - 1301 Sheridan Lake Road, Rapid City, SD

Schedule:  M-F 10am - Noon  

Performance Dates: 7/11 2pm & 5pm.  Each show is 45 minutes long. 

What to Expect at Storybook Island’s Summer Theater Camp

Get ready for a magical adventure on stage! At Storybook Island’s Summer Theater Camp, campers will dive into the exciting world of theater through acting and creative movement. Throughout the camp, children will participate in fun drama games, learn stage fundamentals, and perform this original show written by the Black Hills Playhouse. They’ll also explore costume and set design, helping bring their stories to life. On the final day of camp, families are invited to watch the campers showcase their talents in a delightful performance. No prior theater experience is needed—just a love for imagination and fun!

Requirements: Age K- 8th grade. Must be able to read. 

Please make sure your child is dressed accordingly for the weather, Please bring a water bottle. Make sure your child has sunscreen as well.

A registration form will be emailed to you once payment is received. Please allow up to 3 business days for us to send you the form.
